Meddusa Hotel

The location is great, the staff are friendly and work twenty four hours a day. They are good people, running a hotel which provides good prices for a great location, lovely traditional Turkish breakfast made fresh for 8am. The roof terrace is on two levels, one inside where Turkish tea and hot water is available all day and where you can relax like in a Turkish tea shop. Then above is the roof terrace with great views across the Bosporus and to Hagia. The rooms are clean, standard and comfortable for my needs. I've been able to work a lot in my room having been in the hotel for two weeks. My room was at the back which is quiet. I read the other reviews and I think the negative ones were quite unfair. It's a fantastic price, including a breakfast with a super location. I really feel like the hotel does a great job in a bustling beautiful part of the city. You're surrounded by great shops and restaurants and the staff will be happy to help you find good places to see and eat, they are good people and very respectful.

The room is advertised as a budget room and if you come here with those expectations, then it is very good value for money. The bed was comfortable and rooms very clean with nice hot showers. The breakfast is fantastic, a great selction of good fresh Turkish food and coffee, and the view from the root top terrace on the 4th floor where you eat is amazing, you can view the harbour and the mosques, you are really in the heart of Istanbul here. The main shopping and restaurants and things to see are all around you here, and so are the main mosques and the park and the harbour. Location wise if you want to explore Istanbul, it is second to none.

Rooms more than adequate, location was comfortable walking distance to everything. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
